Connection permission issues aren’t caused by YouScan. The authorization is managed by Meta. Here are a few reasons why this might happen:
Your Facebook profile doesn’t have full admin rights for the page or Instagram account you want to connect.
Your Facebook profile doesn’t have full admin rights for the Business Manager you want to connect with.
Your Facebook page and Instagram account are linked to different Business Managers or aren’t connected to any at all.
There might be some restrictions or blocks on your profile set by Meta. You can check it on your Business Support Home. If you’re facing any restrictions, please contact Meta support.
To make sure everything is set up correctly, follow these steps:
How to Find the Business Manager Your Page is Connected to
Check if your Page is already connected to a Business Manager and which one it is. To confirm this information, access:
1. In the top right corner of the screen, click on your profile picture and select your Page profile.
2. Click on your Page’s photo in the top left corner and look for Settings in the left sidebar:
3. In the left sidebar, click on Page Setup, then Page Access:
4. Facebook will display your Business Portfolio Access, including the name and ID number of the Business Manager your Page is connected to.
If the field is empty, you need to add your Page to a Business Manager.
☝️ If your page is connected to a Business Manager that you can’t access, please check with your colleagues to see who manages it. If you’re not sure who that is, you can reach out to Meta support to request administrative access.
How to Connect Your Facebook Page to a Business Manager
Click this link to view all your Business Managers and select the one to which you want to add the Page.
Select Pages from the side menu.
Click Add, then choose Add a Page. Enter the name or URL of your Facebook Page, click Next, and then Add Page.
Why is This Important?
Linking your Page enables YouScan to access only the essential and public data needed for monitoring and analyzing your Page and Instagram accounts, helping you gain valuable insights while avoiding unnecessary information.
How to Connect Your Instagram Account to a Business Manager
☝️ It's important that your Instagram account is linked to the same Business Manager as your Facebook Page. They all have to be connected.
In the same Business Manager where you connected your Page, click on Instagram Accounts in the left menu, then click on Add, read, and agree to Meta’s privacy policy and terms:
2. Click on Claim Instagram Account and log in using your Instagram account email or username and password.
3. Click Save Info. Your Instagram account will be added to your Business Manager. You can also click on Assign People and designate yourself as the full administrator of the Instagram account, granting full control access:
If your Instagram is a Personal Account, when you connect it to your Business Manager, Meta will suggest that you switch to a Business Account or a Creator Account. You can make this change directly from your Business Manager:
How to Connect Your Instagram Account to a Facebook Page
Now that both assets are linked to the same Business Manager, it's time to connect your Facebook Page to your Instagram account. Here’s how to do it:
Go to your Page profile and click on Boost Instagram Post:
Click Connect Account and log in with your Instagram account:
Voilà! Your Facebook Page is now connected to your Instagram account.
🎉 Now that all your assets are connected, you’re ready to authorize your accounts on the YouScan platform!
If you run into any issues connecting assets in your Business Manager, don’t hesitate to reach out to Meta support
To help them assist you more effectively, be ready to provide the following information:
URL or identification number (ID) of your page;
Identification number (ID) of your Business Manager;
Username of your Instagram account.
How to Find Your Facebook Page ID
Go to your Facebook Page profile.
In the browser’s address bar, you’ll see the URL that looks like this: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100078465378192
After the last forward slash, you’ll find your Page ID.
Alternatively, go to your Page settings and click on Page Info. You’ll see the Page ID listed there.
Find Your Business Manager ID
In Business Info, you can view all the details of your Business Manager, including the identification number (ID).
In the top left corner of the screen, you can switch between different Business Managers to see the information you need.
