You can now upload your own data directly into YouScan using the Data Import feature. Import a single mention or an entire file to analyze the data you need.
How to import your CSV/Excel file:
Open topic Settings and select the Import tab.
Click Select file. You can also download a template by clicking on the Excel or CSV format if needed.
In the pop-up window, select the required file format or drag and drop your CSV or Excel file.
Rename: Click the pencil icon if you’d like to give your import a specific name.
4. Align your file columns with YouScan fields (e.g., Text, Date, Source).
💡 Show examples: Click this next to any field name to see what data and headers we expect for that category.
Flexible Mapping: Map your "Content" column to the YouScan "Text" field, or "Picture URL" to "Image URL."
Save Mapping: Check the "Save mapping" box to reuse this configuration for future imports.
Live Editing: Click any cell with an error to correct it directly in the interface.
Exclude columns: Leave unnecessary columns unmapped to skip them.
Filter errors: Switch from "All data" to "Only errors" in the "Show" menu to quickly see columns that need fixing.
5. When everything is ready сlick Import.
Click "Show mentions" after the import finishes to jump straight to the stream.
How to import a single mention:
Open topic Settings and select the Import tab.
Choose Single mention.
Paste the link and click Preview mention.
Once the data is loaded, click Add mention.
Click To the mentions to view it in your stream, or select Add new mention to upload another one.
Important to know:
Mandatory fields: Your file must contain at least one of these: Text, Title, or Image URL.
Unique URLs: The system imports a specific URL only once per topic. To re-import a deleted mention, slightly modify the URL (e.g., add a "?" at the end).
Image URLs: Use direct https://www.google.com/search?q=links to image files ending in .jpg or .png.
Progress tracking: You can leave the page during upload; the Import tab shows the real-time status.
Your data is ready for analysis! 🎉
